音楽は、どこまで届くのだろう。
大阪フィルハーモニー交響楽団の「次世代育成プロジェクト」が発表され、公式サイトも公開されました。私は2027年度より、プロジェクトリーダーに就任する予定です。
私にとって、憧れの大フィル。その豊かな響きに、まだ出会っていない人がいる。そのことに、この取り組みの大切な意味を感じています。
音楽に出会う機会は、思っているほど等しくありません。暮らす場所、経済的な事情、身近に誘ってくれる人がいるかどうか。「自分が行ってもいい場所なのだろうか」という、目には見えない距離もあります。
そうした文化格差を、少しずつ小さくしていきたい。
そのために、音楽の質を薄めるのではなく、大フィルが積み重ねてきた深さや豊かさを、そのまま届けたい。初めて聴く人にも、長く音楽と暮らしてきた人にも。誰もが等しく、その響きに触れられるように。
同じ音を聴いても、心に生まれる物語は一人ひとり違う。それでいいのだと思います。等しくひらかれた入り口の先で、それぞれの出会いが育っていく。そんな風景を、つくっていけたら。
大阪の街で、まだ顔も名前も知らない誰かと、同じ音に耳を澄ます。
その先に何が生まれるのか。
答えはまだ、音になる前のところにあります。

How far can music reach?
The Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra’s “Next-Generation Development Project” has been announced, and its official website is now online. I am scheduled to take on the role of Project Leader from fiscal year 2027.
I admire the Osaka Philharmonic. And there are people who have yet to encounter its rich sound. That is what makes this initiative so meaningful to me.
Opportunities to encounter music are not as equal as we might think. Where we live, our financial circumstances, whether we have someone close by to invite us along. There is also an invisible distance in the question, “Is this really a place for someone like me?”
I would like to narrow those gaps in access to culture, little by little.
To do that, I want to share the depth and richness the Osaka Philharmonic has built over the years, without diluting the quality of the music. With people hearing it for the first time, and with those who have lived with music for many years. So that everyone has an equal chance to experience that sound.
Even when we hear the same sound, the stories that arise within us are different for each of us. And I think that is fine. Beyond an entrance open equally to everyone, each person’s encounter grows in its own way. I hope we can create a scene like that.
Somewhere in Osaka, listening closely to the same sound as someone whose face and name I do not yet know.
What might come from that?
For now, the answer has yet to become sound.
